The following images show one owner's approach to installing a bimini on a Flicka. Tom, a personal friend of mine, moved the mainsheet forward on the boom and installed a mainsheet traveler just behind the companion opening 1. Because of the location of the double backstays, one bimini support frame was installed aft of the backstays and the forward frame was installed just aft of the mainsheet lead. To accommodate the backstays, the canvas was slotted where the backstays pass through the canvas. Velcro or a zipper was used to close these slots. In addition to the bimini, Tom covered the outside of the cabin bulkhead with 3/4" teak, added teak caps to the cockpit coamings and built a teak stern anchor locker with louvered doors in the aft section of the cockpit. The lovely green whale stripe around the hull is Tom's work as is the color scheme for the drifter. In the my opinion she is one lovely Flicka.
