The data that is displayed on the Flickas For Sale page is the same data that is shown on the Flickabase page. The only difference is that Flickas only appear on the for sale listing when a column in the database table called "For Sale" has a yes in it. Listing a Flicka for sale therefore requires that the data is entered into the flicka database.

Currently only users with Flickabase Editor permission can edit the database. If you would like to become an editor please contact the Web Captain. I decided it would not be practical to let all users add/edit their Flickas because boats change hands like lollipops in the playground and this would lead to an unmanageable mess of users and data ownership.

It appears that the submission process has been causing many people a lot of confusion because for some reason they are looking for a form and can't understand where the data should be entered. I am sorry to say that right now there is no form! If somebody with ASP.NET and Dotnetnuke programming skills would like to build one I'd be very happy to install it on the site but until I find the time to do it myself you'll have to do some work and send the information as an email!

The following is a list of requirements to get your Flicka listed in the database. You can copy and paste the list into an email or Word document and email it or you can just type it into an email. Either way you must email it to the address below.

So, ideally I'd like you to send me all this information please:

Boat Name

Maker

Year

Hull Number

Hull Construction Material

Interior layout and head configuration

Engine type

Rig

Hull gel coat colour (if applicable)

Cabin gelcoat colour (if applicable)

Current Owner name(s)

Previous Owner Names (if any and if known)

Does this Flicka has a trailer?

Contact Information: email and phone (this will only be displayed if the Flicka is for sale)

Location

Passage information: any passages you know this Flicka has completed and any cruising information (optional)

Further info: equipment inventory, special modifications, any other information that might be interesting or useful.

Web or Blog: if your Flicka has a web site or a Blog

Images: Five or more photographs in JPEG format. Ideally, reduced in size to approx 600px by 600px. If you are unable to do this then just attach the full sized images to the email. All modern digital cameras produce JPEG images. If you have scanned images I will accept .TIFF's but please do not email any single image larger than 2MB.

Notes:

If you are selling a Flicka then please state this clearly and provide the price in USD. Your Flicka will then appear in the For Sale listings.

The more information you provide now the less work you will have to do if/when you come to sell.
